FILA Shoes & Italian Roots

Disclaimer my friends: this post is sponsored by FILA, but all opinions are my own – they really are!

As some of you guys know, I sometimes work with brands and publish blog and Instagram posts in exchange for products and/or payment. I’ve worked with Travelon, Promptly Journals, Her Campus Media and Clarisonic (see my blog post here!); these are mostly either travel or lifestyle brands.

When I was asked to apply to participate in this campaign as a blogger, I almost didn’t, simply because I am not a fashion blogger. Do I come from Milan, the city of fashion? Absolutely, but that isn’t exactly real fashion styling experience that you can put on a blogger resume (is there such a thing?)

However, what pushed me to apply anyway was the history of the FILA brand. Well, more than the history, it was the nationality. In fact, don’t be fooled by its popularity here and elsewhere: FILA is an Italian brand that has become particularly successful in the United States. Which, if you think about it, is exactly what I want to do with my life!

I’m a big fan of supporting Italian brands in the US. I take pride in using Italian products here, whether it’s for food, fashion, or really anything else. FILA started in Biella, a town I have visited many times and know pretty well. Many of my friends were actually born and raised there, therefore Biella is near and dear to my heart. Wearing FILA means repping Biella and Italy, and I’m so down for that!

On top of that, I am currently in love with the chunky sneaker trend. It’s becoming increasingly popular and I’m here for it! I love how versatile a chunky sneaker is. Even these pink FILA Disruptor 2 are easy to pair with a tee shirt dress, or leggings and a sweater, or jeans and a leather jacket! They work with athleisure, but they also look good with a casual or flirty outfit: the possibilities are really endless.

I’m super excited about my pair of Disruptor 2: you’ll definitely be seeing these more often, especially if you follow me on Instagram! They’re also super comfortable, which never hurts!

Have you heard of the FILA Disruptor 2? How do you feel about the chunky sneaker trend? Let me know in the comments!
