Best of January

Hi everyone!! Hope y’all are doing great! If you only follow me here on the blog, we left off in 2019 with the Top 5 Places of 2019 article. We are now a month into 2020 and I see big things ahead!
With the new year, I want to bring more content to the blog. That means a few more posts compared to last year – I really didn’t write that many! – which will include some more “relaxed” posts (because trust me, there is no way I can write those 1500 words blog posts that often).
Something cool I thought of is to display monthly favorites: every month, I’ll write a short list with my favorite things from the past month, which can be trips, products, shows, food, people, anything! I don’t know if you’ll be interested in it since these sound like rather personal posts, but I’m an oversharer anyway so let’s give it a try!

Zlatan Ibrahimovic at AC Milan

Okay, okay, if you’re not into soccer you can skip ahead. But if you are, you’ll enjoy hearing about how my favorite player of ALL time, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has joined my favorite soccer team of ALL time, AC Milan! I had been following the soccer market for months, hoping that this would happen, and eventually it did! Not only did it happen, it happened while I was in Milan, so obviously I had to go and welcome him when he landed! So, I ended up on Italian TV (LOL) and managed to get two (pretty bad) shots of him in the car.

Pinacoteca di Brera

While in Milan, I also got the chance to explore the Pinacoteca di Brera, a famous art museum that was recently renovated and now looks cooler than ever. The museum features art from the Middle Ages to modern times, divided in 38 rooms. If you’re ever in Milan I highly recommend you check out the Pinacoteca, especially if you’re a student: student tickets are only TWO EUROS! 38 rooms of art for two euros. Best. Deal. Ever.

Andy Warhol Exhibit

The Andy Warhol Exhibit at the Art Institute of Chicago was SO COOL! It made me realize how little I knew about Warhol (he was gay?! He was from Pittsburgh?! He got shot and almost killed but survived?!), but mostly I just loved checking out his art, which goes beyond Marilyn portraits and Campbell soup prints.

Dinner at Eataly’s Osteria del Mercato

I was recently invited to dine at Osteria del Mercato by Eataly Chicago. I love Eataly, so that was really a big “hey look ma I made it” moment. At their restaurant Osteria del Mercato, you can order from the menu OR anything from the market and they’ll make it for you on the spot! Everything was absolutely delicious from the seafood pasta to the steak.

Miami Beach Girls Trip

Earlier this month, I got the chance to visit Miami Beach and be reunited with three of my college friends, two of which now live across the country. Let me tell you, Miami Beach was the perfect girls trip destination! I’ll write a full blog post on our trip, but here are the highlights: we found beautiful art and murals at Wynwood Walls in the Wynwood art district, ate delicious food at Ola, tried the best gelato at Stefano Versace Gelato, explored the bars on Ocean Drive and Collins Ave (shoutout to Drunk Bitch and Voodoo!), relaxed on the beach and overall had TONS of fun in the sun! Highly recommend Miami Beach for all your girls trip and bachelorette parties needs!

The Circle

Talking about my girls trip to Miami, we all got hooked to The Circle, a Netflix reality show! We’d watch a couple episodes in between exploring and going out. It may look dumb at first, but it’s so entertaining! I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a laid-back show to watch – it’s not as trashy as trash tv, but very easy to follow! And it’s hilarious, we were cracking up!
